2) Important accuracy note (density varies)

Conversions from yards to tons depend on material density, which can change significantly due to moisture, compaction, gradation, source quarry, and how the material is measured/loaded. Any preset values are typical averages — your real-world result may differ.

• Always confirm with your supplier, project spec, or material test data for critical jobs.
• Account for jobsite realities (swell/compaction, moisture content, voids, and measurement method).
• When in doubt, order with an appropriate buffer and verify hauling/truck limits.

3) Your responsibilities
